ANDC Board Candidates

Dr. Danna Lewis (Chair):

I am seeking the office of ANDC Chair because I want Democratic values to be represented at every table where important decisions are made. Too often in the South Orange County political landscape, the quality of life and wellbeing of residents has been undermined by lack of representation of our core principles. I pledge to actively work toward advancing office-holders who honor human rights and resources for everyone in our community so that we may shape a better future for our generations to come.

For the last four years, I’ve been a volunteer activist and organizer campaigning for Democratic candidates, as well as serving as an elected California Assembly District Delegate and DPOC Central Committee Member-Elect 2021-2025. With my proven skills of organizing people and projects, motivating teams, and distilling complicated ideas into easy-to-understand strategies, I will faithfully serve the mission of ANDC and its members. Moreover, I’ll bring my leadership and professional experience from 16 years as President/CEO of SURFER Magazine and eight years with TIME Magazine, as well as the expertise I’ve honed in my academic career having earned a doctorate in organizational psychology.

The events of 2020 serve to remind us that there is so much work to be done. The founders and leaders of ANDC have set a high standard of inclusivity, compassion, problem-solving and resolve to fight for the best interest of our communities. Looking forward, I know that members shape organizations and I vow to uphold club standards and work with each member to grow together as a team, and forge new leaders in the process. I humbly ask for your support so that we can set and meet new objectives allowing Democrats to bring equality and justice closer for all.

Anita Narayana (Vice Chair):

Hello, my name is Anita. I've lived in Aliso Viejo for 12+ years. I'm on the County and State Democratic E-Boards and I really enjoy being involved in Democratic politics.

Debbie Lima (Vice Chair):

I have found such fellowship at the ANDC and been glad to contribute however I can. The current elected officers have done a wonderful job and I'd like to see the club remain strong. I enjoy the opportunities for activism and want to be a part of providing leadership for the ANDC.

I see this as a three legged stool. The first leg, and most important is to help Democrats win elections. We've had great opportunities for activism, and I'd like to see that continue. There are many ways to contribute our time and talent. Second, the meetings are a great place to get to know the issues and how we might make progress towards positive change. Letting the members hear from special speakers and elected officials is a great way to educate all of us. Third, friendship. There are so many great people in the club. It would be great to grow it and see people enjoy the process. I'm asking for your vote for Vice Chair.

Diane Groh (Treasurer):

I have had the opportunity to be the Club’s treasurer this past year. It has been a rewarding experience to serve alongside Michael and the other board members. I’ve learned a lot about how a political club operates and would like to put that knowledge to good use in serving another term.
